This berry vanilla smoothie is a nutritious meal blended up into a convenient drinkable shake! This is my go to smoothie recipe when I want something nutrient dense but also tasty! It checks off so many boxes for what I try to fit into my diet daily! Its got frozen mixed berries, vanilla protein powder, greens and walnuts!

First I pack this smoothie with greens to get added micronutrients- bok choy, arugula and lettuce are my favorites. Bok choy has a mild flavor but is high in calcium and since its a cruciferous veggie you get the isothiocyanates when blended up! Isothiocyanates are formed when you crush or blend cruciferous vegetables and they turn on your bodies internal detoxification system. Arugula is high in nitrates which forms nitric oxide in the body and helps improve blood flow and may help lower blood pressure.

SMOOTHIE MEAL PREP

I made this recipe in my YouTube video meal prepping smoothies using freezer silicone molds. The result worked out amazingly! I multiplied this recipe times 4, blended it up then transferred the mixture to silicone ice cube trays. When they were frozen I popped out the cubes and stored them in individual bags portioned out to make 1 serving each. To re make the smoothie when youre ready to drink it you can either put the cubes back into the blender with 1 cup of soy or almond milk to blend it up again, OR you can transfer the cubes to a cup and wait for them to defrost. Its so convenient on super busy days when you need some good nutrition on the go!

After freezing, pop out the smoothie cubes into individually portioned out bags, giving you ready made nutritous meal prepped smoothies for busy days!

Silicone ice cube trays for meal prep- these ones worked out great for me. Each tray holds about 1 smoothie serving, so I would buy multiple if you plan on using these for meal prep.

Highly recommend using this protein powder in this recipe. It has a delicious vanilla flavor, sweetened with real monk fruit for added sweetness without any sugar or stevia aftertaste, and its made with clean simple ingredients. Even better it has a smooth texture- no grittyness!
