Trader Joe’s Essentials Healthy Grocery List

Spread the love

Here is my grocery list of everything I stock up on when I go to Trader Joe’s! Its my favorite place to stock up on basic/ essential items because I think they have the best price for staples like nuts and seeds, lentil pastas, breads, frozen items, and so much more!

If you are new here I eat a mostly whole foods- plant based diet and I just received my certification in a diet called the “nutritarian” diet! The nutritarian diet was designed by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. It is a whole foods plant based diet that aims to avoid highly processed foods, oil, sugar and salt and centers around the most nutrient dense foods possible- Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds- AKA GBOMBS! The goal is to eat as many veggies, leafy greens and other whole plant foods as possible and avoid highly processed foods.

Trader Joe’s is my favorite place to get nuts and seeds because I think they are the best price compared to other grocery stores. I buy raw cashews, raw sunflower seeds, raw pumpkin seeds and raw hemp seeds and I blend them up to make creamy dairy free sauces and dressings. I also love to buy nut butters at Trader Joe’s like peanut butter, almond butter and tahini. They sell raw, no salt added almond butter for $6.49 which is a great price for almond butter!

Frozen fruits and veggies are also a great price at Trader Joe’s. They sell frozen wild blueberries that are pesticide free and only $3.49 each. I also like to stock up on frozen mango and mixed berries for smoothies. I love to have frozen veggies in stock because you can throw them in a stir fry for a quick meal. Frozen veggies are picked in season then quickly frozen so they are just as good as fresh! I buy frozen veggies like broccoli, edamame, mixed veggie medley and peas.

I like to get a ton of other pantry staples at TJ’s so I’ll just give you my full list here! I don’t buy ALL of these items all the time but these are most of the items I like to stay stocked up on and when I run out of an item I replace it in my pantry. Also this is just a basic starting place, you can certainly add anything else you need or want to this list! Hope it helps you stay organized and not forget anything on your next grocery trip!
