Tofu Bacon Crumbles

- 1 package firm tofu
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp liquid smoke
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Remove tofu from package and wrap in a dish towel or paper towel. Place under heavy object such as a cast iron skillet and press for 5 minutes. Remove from towel and crumble the tofu with your hands into a mixing bowl.
To the crumbled tofu in the mixing bowl add all of the seasonings from soy sauce to garlic powder and mix well.
Oil the baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. Spread out the tofu crumbles on the baking sheet. Place in the oven for 20 minutes, then take it out and flip the crumbles over and bake for another 10 minutes. Use as a salad topping, in a wrap, or in stuffed baked potatoes.
