HEALTHY CARAMEL-Dairy Free, Refined Sugar Free

Caramel made from medjool dates and almond butter. Use as a dip for caramel apples or in candy bar/ baked goods recipes

Ingredients
  

  • 12 large medjool dates
  • 3/4 cup cup boiling hot water
  • 1/4 cup raw almond butter or cashew butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla bean powder or sub 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. 1. Remove pits from dates and place in a bowl. Bring water to a boil and pour boiling water over the dates. Soak the dates for 10 minutes to soften.
  2. 2. Add soaked dates plus the water to a blender along with the almond butter and vanilla powder. Blend until smooth. Serve right away with sliced apples or use in baked goods/ candy bar recipes. Keep in fridge for 1 week.
